Rowland Virtual Learning Academy

Opening for the 2022-2023 school year, we are proud to launch the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy, a new educational choice for Rowland Unified School District TK-6 families who want their students to participate in an exceptional online learning program.

The Rowland Virtual Learning Academy is an alternative to in-person learning that reflects the traditional school setting, incorporating components known to benefit student achievement and success. As a student in the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy, students will:

  • Have access to high quality standards-based daily instruction provided by a Rowland Unified teacher, following the traditional school calendar for the District.
  • Receive daily instruction and participate in a learning day similar to our elementary schools, with Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten learning from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and first through sixth grade learning from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Be provided a district device, all textbooks and learning tools. If a hot spot is needed to successfully access the classroom lessons and learning, using the Zoom platform, one will be provided.
  • Be required to participate daily in lessons, both in large and small groups, as well as work independently through Seesaw and/or Google Classroom. The learning day will include both synchronous and asynchronous instruction with required completion of assignments.
  • Receive ongoing feedback, assessments and grades from their teacher.

As we plan for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year, we are here to support you and your student in finding the right educational setting to reach their full potential. Registration for the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy is now open. You will need to complete the RUSD Intra District Transfer form, which allows us to move your child from your home school to the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy. Registration and the completion of the Intra District Transfer Virtual application form (found below) must be completed by June 1, 2022 to secure space for your child at the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy. Applications are also available at 1830 S. Nogales Street, Rowland Heights, CA 91748, Student Services Department.

Again, we know that selecting the learning environment and community for your child is an important decision. We are confident that whether you select to return to your home school or attend the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy that your child will receive a quality education and learning experiences.
