New Rowland Virtual Learning Academy

Rowland Virtual Learning Academy, is the newest educational choice for Rowland Unified School District TK-6 families who want their students to participate in an exceptional online learning program.

The Rowland Virtual Learning Academy opened for the 2022-2023 school year and is an alternative to in-person learning that reflects the traditional school setting, incorporating components known to benefit student achievement and success. As a student in the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy, students:

  • Have access to high quality standards-based daily instruction provided by a Rowland Unified teacher, following the traditional school calendar for the District.
  • Receive daily instruction and participate in a learning day similar to our elementary schools, with Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten learning from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and first through sixth grade learning from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Be provided a district device, all textbooks and learning tools. If a hot spot is needed to successfully access the classroom lessons and learning, using the Zoom platform, one will be provided.
  • Be required to participate daily in lessons, both in large and small groups, as well as work independently through Seesaw and/or Google Classroom. The learning day will include both synchronous and asynchronous instruction with required completion of assignments.
  • Receive ongoing feedback, assessments and grades from their teacher.

Again, we know that selecting the learning environment and community for your child is an important decision. If you have any further questions, please contact the Rowland Virtual Learning Academy by calling (626)935-8122.
