Erik Venegas was re-elected in November 2024. He was sworn in on Friday, December 13, 2024 and received his oath of office by Superintendent Alejandro Flores. He was first Elected in November of 2020. Current term will end December 2028.

Together we have made great strides, and I am excited about what lies ahead. To my fellow board members, administrators, unions, teachers, staff, and families, thank you for your dedication and collaboration. It is through our shared vision and hard work that we can continue to build a strong foundation for all of our work and for our students to thrive. As I step into this new term, I do so with a renewed commitment to listening, learning and leading in ways that serves our communities’ best interest. I am looking forward to working together, tackling challenges, and celebrating successes as we continue this journey of growth, excellence in our schools, and I thank you again for this opportunity to serve."

 

Community Involvement:

  • Community Member of West Covina since 1999
  • Proud RUSD Parent and supporter of the arts, athletics and being “Team Dad” for schoolwide events
  • Volunteer for RUSD Senior Seminar Career Pathways Program
  • Parent representative for WASC Accreditation Committee at Nogales High School

 

Education & Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona
  • Master’s in Business Administration
  • Worked as an engineer in Consumer Products for 20 years
  • Currently working as an engineer in the Aerospace Industry supporting production for Commercial, Military, and Defense

  • Committed to rigorous academics and having students be successful through college and into careers.
  • Focus on the strengths of the Rowland Unified School District – Academics, Visual and Performing Arts, Athletics and Diversity with Dual Language Immersion Programs and International Baccalaureate Schools.
