Donna Freedman was appointed as a provisional board member by the Board of Education on Thursday, February 25, 2021 and represents Trustee Area 5. She was sworn in on Monday, March 1, 2021 and received her oath of office by Superintendent Dr. Julie Mitchell.

 

Term will end November 2022.

Professional Experience:

  • Elementary School Teacher for 36 years, retired in June 2016
  • Professional Committees include: Textbook Math Adoption Committee, Report Card Committee, District and School Field Trip Committees, Discipline Committee

  • School Site Council
  • Union Representative for the teachers at my elementary school
  • GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Liaison
  • Business Owner in West Covina
  • Worked at a C.P. A. Office
  • Manager of a Fast Food Restaurant
  • Master Teacher for 2 student teachers
  • Board Member for 5 years at Rowland Unified School District before being appointed
  • Attended CALSSD Meetings in Sacramento

 

Community Involvement:

  • Resident of Rowland Heights since 1986
  • Two daughters attended RUSD schools from 1st -12th grade
  • After school remedial help with students
  • School Site Council at Shelyn Elementary
  • Assisted Team Mom in Water Polo at Rowland High School
  • Active in Girl Scouts
  • Attended RCPTA Meetings
  • Attended Walnut City Council Meetings
