Rowland High's Wrestling Program Brings Home Awards

Congratulations to the wrestling team at Rowland High School as they wrestled their way to the CIF Division 3 Dual Meet Runner-up Trophy.  In winning three hard fought matches, including beating #12 in the state Calvary Chapel of Santa Ana, the Raiders faced Temescal Canyon in the championship final and fell in a close battle of two top-notch programs. The next competition for the Raiders will be this Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Hacienda League Wrestling Finals, at Bonita High School, starting at 9 a.m.  The top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the CIF Individual Wrestling Championships, held Feb. 21-22 at Norte Vista High School in Riverside.

Congratulations also goes out to our girls’ wrestling team who competed this past weekend in the CIF Northern Division Championships, held at Pioneer Valley High School in Santa Maria.  Marliena Granados (pictured) took 2nd place as the runner-up in her weight class.  This will advance Marliena to the CIF Masters Meet this Saturday, Feb. 15, at Roosevelt High School in Eastvale.  Also advancing to the Masters Meet is Cherydan James and Leslie Zhou as they both earned 8th place finishes in their respective weight classes.
