Community Leaders Invited to "Principal for a Day" March 6 That Supports High School Scholarships

COMMUNITY LEADERS INVITED TO TAKE PART IN “PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY” EVENT THAT SUPPORTS HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

 CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA  – JANUARY 21, 2014 – Business and community leaders from across the San Gabriel Valley are invited to support local student scholarships and experience first-hand what it is like to be a school principal at the unique “Principal for a Day” event set for March 6, 2014. That morning, community members are invited to be “guest principals” and tour at schools across Bassett, Hacienda La Puente, Rowland Unified School Districts, and the La Puente Valley Regional Occupational Program. Guest principals are then invited to attend a complimentary luncheon at the Industry Hills Expo Center with a special guest speaker (to be announced soon).

Thanks to corporate sponsors, 14 high school career scholarships are presented at the Principal for a Day Luncheon, held on March 6, at 11:30 a.m. The Luncheon returns to the Industry Hills Expo Center Pavilion, located at 16200 Temple Avenue in the City of Industry.

          8 a.m. – 11 a.m.      PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY MORNING SCHOOL TOURS

“Guest principals” tour elementary, intermediate and high schools – as well as adult schools – in the communities of Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, La Puente, City of Industry, Walnut and West Covina.

     11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.           PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY AWARDS LUNCHEON            (Industry Hills Expo Center  – Pavilion at 16200 Temple Ave., City of Industry)

Considered the region’s most comprehensive annual community outreach program for more than two decades, “Principal for a Day” is a business and education partnership. The event features a partnership between local education agencies along with the Regional Chamber of Commerce - San Gabriel Valley and the Industry Manufacturers Council.
