Senator Dr. Ed Hernandez Presents Flag to Giano Intermediate:
It was a big day at Giano Intermediate as the entire school celebrated a visit from California State Senator Dr. Ed Hernandez. The Senator made a special visit to present a new flag to the school, one that was flown over the state capitol! The campus was adorned with red ribbons and balloons to also celebrate the kick-off of Red Ribbon Week. Distinguished guests in attendance included RUSD Board Member Heidi Gallegos, RUSD Superintendent Ruben Frutos and Cabinet members. The Senator and guests were very impressed with the celebration and presentations that took place. Giano’s band, color guard, and Mariachis performed and the Senator was touched as Giano ASB students spoke and presented him with his very own Gladiator shirt.
