Family Resource Center’s FRESH START EVENT 2013: This year the Family Resource Center serviced 300 RUSD children from K-12. They held a two day event on August 15 & 16, one day at Northam Elementary and this year Jellick Elementary opened their campus to host day two for Rowland Heights families. Costco generously donated 160 backpacks for this event. The children received backpacks with school supplies, 2 sets of shirts and pants, socks, underwear, and a hygiene kit. Dressing room tents were set up to ensure the clothing fit. Our Fresh Start event is held to prepare students that qualify, based on need, from head to toe, so they will start the school year prepared and confident. This event could not be possible without the help of our Family Resource staff, volunteers and donors.
