Dear Rowland Unified Community:
I want to highlight the leadership of our Board of Education and their continued commitment to advocating for our students, staff, and community. This leadership was reflected in two important actions approved at the April 9, 2026 Board of Education meeting.
First, following a public comment from the previous Board meeting, by ARE President Derek Hollingsworth, the Board requested that I bring forward a resolution supporting the continuation of funding provided by Proposition 55. This funding is critical to RUSD and to public education across California, and the Board’s action reflects a clear commitment to advocating for the stability and sustainability our students deserve.
Second, the Board has carefully considered community concerns regarding recent zoning changes and proposed developments in newly rezoned areas. In response, Board members asked me to prepare a resolution to formally express these concerns and to emphasize the importance of thoughtful planning that supports our schools and community.
Please click below to view both resolutions. I want you to know that your voices matter and are being heard.
Thank you for your continued support for “Every Student, Every Day.”
Alejandro Flores,Superintendent of Schools
