KINDERFEST School ReadinesS FAIR FOR PRESCHOOL FAMILIES SATURDAY, MARCH 14 AT ROWLAND UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – MARCH 6, 2026 – Families with preschool-aged children will not want to miss the whale of a time event  KINDERFEST on Saturday, March 14 from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Rowland Unified School District! This fun, school-readiness fair with ocean-themed activities provides families with children ages 3, 4 and 5 the opportunity to experience what teaching and learning looks like in Transitional Kindergarten (TK)/Kindergarten across the Rowland Unified School District. Families can dive-into hands-on experiences including a seashell fossil dig, coding robots and take their first steps onto a school bus! Explore the KinderFest Classroom – a TK/Kindergarten classroom with flexible seating, technology and speak with Teacher Experts for tips and information on how they can prepare their child for school success. There will be face-painting & craft activities, music, a reading garden, the KinderFest Cafeteria with yummy snacks and so much more! A listing of the many booths and activities are below.

Open enrollment is now taking place for all new students in the Rowland Unified School District for the 2026-2027 school year and RUSD Student Services staff will be on hand at KinderFest to help parents with the enrollment process. Enrollment is at www.rowlandschools.org/enroll.

KinderFest Location: Back parking lot of the Rowland Unified School District Office at 1830 S. Nogales Street (near the corner of Colima) in Rowland Heights.  

KINDERFEST BOOTHS 

  • Coding: Children can code “Beebots” and start their love of robotics.
  • Child Safety: Los Angles County Sheriff Deputies will provide safety information for families and a police car for kids to climb in!
  • RUSD's Expanded Learning Opportunities: Rowland Unified offers ALL TK-6 students FREE after-school expanded learning opportunities until 6 PM that offer engaging activities at every elementary school.
  • RUSD’s Magic School Bus: Children can take their first steps onto a big yellow bus, honk the horn, and turn the steering wheel! Kids can also meet our Transportation mascot RUS-D, a motorized bus buddy!
  • RUSD Dual Language Immersion Programs: Starting in Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten, children in RUSD can learn to read, write and speak Spanish or Chinese!
  • Mommy & Me Programs with Rowland Adult & Recreation: Families can sign-up for classes to learn together with their child.
  • Seashell Dig: Kids can dig for seashells and take one home!
  • Photo Areas/Face Painting & More: Face-painting, balloons, and KinderFest photo booths galore!
  • Rowland Reading Garden: Children can choose books to read in the Rowland Reading Garden. Los Angeles County librarians will share information about reading programs.
  • Healthy Kids: Families can ask a pediatrician and District nurse health-related questions and learn how to wash hands properly at the Handwashing Station.
  • East Valley Community Health Center: Our RUSD partner will provide free hearing and vision screenings to families.
  • RUSD Family Resource Center: The FRC supports and connects families to a variety of services including but not limited to counseling, health services, parent learning resources and so much more!
  • Elementary Counseling: Did you know EVERY elementary school in RUSD has counselors to help with academic and social emotional support?
