BLANDFORD FAMILY LATINO NIGHT EVENT TONIGHT

ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – OCTOBER 18, 2011 – The families and community surrounding Blandford Elementary will experience the school's second Blandford Latino Night tonight, October 18, from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Children and their families will enjoy Latin food and participate in several cultural activities such as tortilla and piñata making, Loteria “Bingo”, dancing and papel picado (tissue paper banner art).

The event is organized by Blandford PTA and a team of  Latino teachers. This year the event will feature food from Peru (South America), El Salvador (Central America), and Mexico (North America).  Families will have the opportunity to purchase dinner meals to eat before the activities.  Music will be available for families to listen to while they enjoy their dinner.  A trio and Hurley Elementary Mariachi will be performing at this festive event. 

The Blandford Latino Night schedule of events are:

5 – 6:30 p.m.          Dinner (Food will be sold for families to enjoy.)

6:30 - 7:30 p.m.    The community can experience a variety of cultural activities in two 25  minute rotations that include mini piñatas, loteria, maracas, and Latin dancing.

Blandford Elementary is a California Distinguished School, a 2007 National Blue Ribbon School and is one of the highest performing schools in the Rowland Unified School District.
