Nogales High School Poetry Club Advisor Cory Cofer talks about the impact of poetry... (Rachel Luna)

It's not an assignment. There are no grades, right or wrong, rhyme or reason.

The students of the Nogales High School Poetry Club write simply because they like it.

"The poetry club was created at Nogales High School in 2006 to foster young writers," said English teacher and club adviser Cory Cofer. "Poetry is a freedom of expression. These students are writing because they love to write, opposed to writing because they have to."
