Welcome to the Rowland Unified School District and KinderFest! KinderFest is a school-readiness event for families of children who are 3,4 & 5 years old to experience what learning looks like in RUSD for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten! DIVE into a Fun-filled day with hands-on, ocean-themed activities, including a sea shell dig!

We can't wait for you to join us at KinderFest! This is a super fun and interactive school-readiness event for families with children ages 3, 4 and 5 to explore Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten learning and programs offered in Rowland Unified! Dive into fun ocean-themed activities, the KinderFest Classroom, School Bus Experience, Sea shell Dig, Robotics, Reading Garden, Face-Painting, Arts & Crafts, Music and More!

Este es un evento súper divertido e interactivo para familias con niños de 3, 4 y 5 años, diseñado para explorar el aprendizaje y los programas de Kínder de Transición (TK) y Kínder ofrecidos en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Rowland. ¡Disfrute de divertidas actividades con temática marina, salón de clase KinderFest, experiencia del Autobús Eescolar, búsqueda de conchas marinas, Robótica, Jardín de Lectura, Pintacaritas, Manualidades, Música y mucho más!

Here is a sample of KinderFest Booths and activities that families can enjoy:

KINDERFEST CLASSROOM (Conference Room 4): Visit a TK/Kinder classroom showcasing a variety of learning opportunities, flexible seating, technology and speak with Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Teacher Experts!

SEASHELL DIG: Look for your very own seashell in a hands-on dig!
CAFETERIA EXPERIENCE (Conference Room 2): Kids can line up to sample yummy, nutritious food by RUSD Nutrition Services!
RUSD’s Magic School Bus: Children can take their first steps onto a big yellow bus, honk the horn, and turn the steering wheel!
Coding: Children can code “Beebots” and “Coding Crew” bots and start their love of robotics.
RUSD Dual Language Immersion Programs: Starting in Transitional Kindergarten, children in RUSD can learn to read, write and speak Spanish or Chinese! Learn more about our Dual Language Immersion programs.
RUSD's Expanded Learning Opportunities: Rowland Unified is excited to offer families after-school expanded learning opportunities that are engaging, hands-on activities FREE to all TK-6 students.
EXPLORE RUSD SCHOOLS: RUSD has award-winning schools and choices for every family, from TK-8 Academies, AVID and No Excuses University Schools, International Baccalaureate and more! Learn which school is right for your child.
Mommy & Me Programs with Rowland Adult & Recreation: Parents can sign-up for classes to learn together with their child.
ST Math: Meet JiJi the Penguin and Math Mascot for ST Math in Rowland Unified! ST Math is an online instructional program that uses fun and engaging puzzles to teach math concepts to students.
Healthy Kids: Parents can ask a pediatrician and District nurse health-related questions and learn how to wash their hands properly at the Handwashing Station.
Tzu Chi Vision Clinic: RUSD Partner Tzu Chi will provide free vision screening to families.
Rowland Reading Garden: Children can choose to read a variety of books in a green area with information about reading programs for children ages 3-5 at L.A. County Libraries.
Child Safety: Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies will provide safety information for families and a police car for kids to climb in!
RUSD Family Resource Center: The FRC supports and connects families to a variety of services including but not limited to: counseling, health services, parent learning resources and so much more!
RUSD Student Services: Learn about RUSD’s award-winning schools and how to enroll online at https://rowlandschools.aeries.net/enrollment/ *Families who enroll in RUSD at the event get a special gift!
Elementary Counseling: Did you know EVERY elementary school in RUSD has counselors to help with academic and social emotional support? We can help answer families’ questions on RUSD services that are available.
Photo Areas/Face Painting & More: Children will have fun taking their pictures with KinderFest photo cut outs with RUSD students, have fun with balloons, face-painting and more!
