Public Safety Announcement From West Covina Police Department

This is Superintendent Dr. Maria Ott and the following is a public safety announcement from the West Covina Police Department.
 
This morning around 6 a.m., a 17 year old female student was walking on Shadow Oak Drive, near Gemini Street, when she noticed a Male Hispanic (unknown age), 5-8 medium build with black spiked hair, walking about 100 yards behind her in the same direction. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and spoke in English but with a heavy accent.  About a minute later the female was grabbed from behind and pulled into the bushes on the south side of Shadow Oak Dr., near Shadow Oak Park.
 
The female was sexually assaulted and then released.  The victim walked to Nogales High School where she immediately notified school authorities.
