Welcome New RUSD Staff: Nogales HS Assistant Principals and District Director of Finance

Welcome New Assistant Principals at Nogales High School:
Mariela Moscal, Assistant Principal at Nogales High School: Mariela Moscal has been employed by the Rowland Unified School District for the past 17 years. She has been a teacher and Primary Year Program (PYP) International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator at Ybarra Academy of the Arts as well as a District Instructional Coach. Over the past two years, she has taken on an administrative leadership role at Ybarra and has assisted the administration by facilitating professional development, student discipline and test coordination. Mariela earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Cal State Fullerton and an Administrative Credential and Masters of Arts in Administration Leadership from Cal Poly Pomona.

Esther Jang-Tamanaha Ed.D., Assistant Principal at Nogales High School:
Esther Jang-Tamanaha comes to Rowland Unified with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She began her career as an English Teacher, grew to become a Program Coordinator and has worked as a District Administrator. Esther earned her teaching credential from Cal State University Long Beach, a Masters of Arts in Education from Cal Poly Pomona and most recently her Doctorate of Education from the University of Southern California where she continues to contribute as a lector.

Welcome New Fiscal Director Eric Hart:
Rowland Unified welcomes Mr. Eric Hart as our new Director of Fiscal Services. He has more than 15 years of experience in governmental auditing and accounting. This experience was garnered from more than six years as an auditor of California school districts and cities with the CPA firms Vavrinek, Trine, Day & Co, Moreland & Associates, Dennis & Hart Accountancy and Christy White Associates. Eric has also lead internal financial departments as the Accounting Manager for Santa Ana Unified School District, Director of Accounting & Budgets with Pacific Clinics and Director of Fiscal Services for Saugus Union and Garvey School Districts. Eric received his BA in Economics & Accounting from Bethany College in Lindsborg Kansas, where he also played football. He is currently enrolled to complete his Masters of Accountancy from Kansas State University. Eric is married to a fellow accountant, his wife Jennifer, who works in the City of Industry. He has two children, a son, Nathan, who is 6 and a daughter, Audrey, who is 4. Eric and his family live in Claremont next to Upland where Eric was raised. Eric is an active member of the California Association of School Business Officials and currently sits as the Southern Section Accounting Professional Chair and Accounting Professional Council State Section Representative.
