Elementary students prepare to march through Rowland High stadium to help kick off Red Ribbon week. (Greg Andersen / Staff)
Red waves of students washed through the Rowland High football stadium, hoping to hold back the rising tide of drug use in America.
Superintendent Maria Ott rose from the field like a modern-day Poseidon, welcoming her charges as well as the parents populating the stadium seats.
The parade of elementary musicians was the kick-off event for Red Ribbon Week in the Rowland Unified School District.
