Villacorta Students Raise Lots of Pennies: The room was filled with ASB students holding bags and boxes of coins. The smiles were huge as the students and advisor/teacher Maria Coronel proudly shared that their Pennies for Pasta coin drive held Feb. 3-21 raised $2,960.91 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
“Our staff, parents and students are very excited and really came together with a true generous Viking spirit to support such a wonderful cause,” said Coronel. “Our winning class was Mrs. Hernandez Room 61 who raised $634.50! They are the winners of a delicious pasta lunch from The Olive Garden.”
ASB student Louise Vegas said, “Last year we raised $1,800 and it was our first try. This year we had more experience and we were more encouraged and that’s why lots of kids brought so much money so it would help a lot of people.”
