Rowland Raiders 2026 All Stars Basketball Game
The excitement was felt as the entire student body and staff came out to cheer and support their fellow Rowland Raiders. “The 2026 All Stars Basketball Game provides our special needs students with a meaningful opportunity to shine in front of their Rowland High School peers,” said Deann McCormick, Adaptive Physical Education Specialist and lead event organizer. She proudly shares the idea began eight years ago and has grown to become one of the most fun and beloved events on the Rowland High School campus. Preparation for the game starts in January as students learn the rules and strategy of the game of basketball. The event is held in April, the day before the Best Buddies prom. This is unique because the Special needs students have a very fun filled week.
“The support for the basketball game has grown so much over the years. Everyone is involved… the cheerleaders, mascots, band, ASB, and various other classes who lend their support to make this event so special. It is truly a “Feel Good” Day. It is their day to be recognized, celebrated, and appreciated for who they are and all they can do.”
