What's this? Mid-July and Rowland High was packed with students and teachers.

As it turns out, there were several reasons for thousands of students filling the Raider campus, according to Vice Principal Mike Ward.

"We have a total of 43 teachers and more than 2,000 students attending summer school classes," Ward noted.

He pointed out this included students from Alvarado Intermediate School. They had to use the high school this summer because their campus is being renovated.

"We enjoyed having Alvarado here and the exposure to the high school is a good thing for those students," Ward added.
