News Media Statement in Regards to Incident at Nogales High School This Morning

NOGALES HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA STATEMENT:

The safety of Rowland Unified School students and staff is always our top priority. Today at approximately 10 AM, there was an incident between two students where one student was stabbed with a knife in the boys restroom of Nogales High School.

The campus was immediately placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of all staff and students while the situation was assessed. The student immediately received medical attention and the subject was taken into custody.

When transported the victim was conscious and responsive and is being treated at a local hospital for reported non-life threatening injury.

The lockdown was lifted at approximately 11 AM. Additional supervision is on campus and will remain as needed to support students and staff.
