The Rowland Unified School District is currently seeking candidates’ letters of interest for appointment to the Personnel Commission. Letters of interest are currently being accepted for the Board of Education-appointed Personnel Commissioner. The term of office will be December 1, 2023 through December 1, 2026.

The Personnel Commission is a public body responsible for the administration of a Merit System,
which oversees the selection, retention, and promotion of Classified (non-teaching) employees in the
public school system. It is composed of three (3) members from the local community appointed for
three-year terms with the term of one member expiring each year. The RUSD Governing Board appoints one member to the Personnel Commission.

CITIZENS' BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE - BUSINESS COMMUNITY MEMBER
 
On November 6, 2012, the voters of the Rowland Unified School District approved a One Hundred Fifty
Eight Million Eight Hundred Thousand dollar ($158,800,000) bond proposal to upgrade and build school
facilities across the District. With the passage of the bond, it is required to establish a Citizens’ Bond
Oversight Committee. The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee shall have at least seven (7) members.
 
The District is looking for candidates to fill vacancies for a two-year term for the position of: Business Community Member.

The Committee is designed to includeduals with business experience, senior citizens, and members
of the community. Members must be residents in the Rowland Unified School District. District officials,
employees, vendors and contractors are prohibited from serving on the committee.
The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee serves in an advisory role and does not have decision-making
authority, but will review quarterly expenditure reports produced by the District to ensure that bond
proceeds are expanded only for the purpose set forth in the ballot measure. The Committee will also review the audits and reports of expenditures of bond proceeds and will inform public concerning the same.
