Hey, Rowland Honor String Orchestra how're you going to celebrate the end of the school semester?

"We're going to Disneyland!"

Don't be jealous of the cellists at Rowland Unified. The young musicians deserve their 15 minutes of fame at the Happiest Place on Earth.

The violinists performed at noon on Jan. 21 at the Carnation Plaza next to Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

"I'm looking forward to it. I think it's going to be a lot of fun," said 13-year-old Justin Lee during violin class at Alvarado Intermediate in Rowland Heights.

Classmate Angela Tsung agreed, noting "It's been a while since I've gone to Disneyland."

They'll join the district's honors orchestra, when they resin up their bows for the performance in Anaheim.

Of course, the musicians will have time before and after their noontime appearance to enjoy a few rides and see a couple of shows.

"I like the Thunder Mountain ride; it's really fast," Lee said.

The trip to the amusement park is part of the fun that the students have in the strings program.

Jim Wang of Diamond Bar is the new strings teacher for the district. The students say they enjoy Wang's music classes.
