Parent/community member Jean Tsao, Alvarado Principal Ying Tsao, Rowland High School ASB President and IB Graduate Christina Hwee, along with Rowland Council President Connie Miranda and Dr. Ott will appear on Charter Cable Station TBWTV Channel 268 to discuss the impact of the State Budget on RUSD and information about Measure E. The English interview will air tonight, June 10 at 9:30 p.m. The Chinese version will air tomorrow, June 11 at 9:30 p.m.

Due to staggering State budget cuts in excess of $13 million, the Rowland Unified School District has placed Measure E, a local parcel tax, on a June mail ballot election. **Residents should have received their ballots by now - they were mailed June 1.** All registered voters who live within Rowland Unified School District boundaries are eligible to vote. Ballots must be received by June 30th.

Measure E would help raise an estimate $2.5 million annually for five years only. If voters approve the measure, it will cost property owners $10 a month, for a total of $120 per year. Property owners age 65 and over can apply for a senior exemption by July 30.

Measure E would help:
- Maintain college preparation classes and high school counselors
- Preserve student health/safety/security services
- Provide adequate instructional materials and classroom technology
- Keep school libraries open
- Protect small class sizes
- Maintain music and art programs
- Retain qualified, experienced teachers
