The 2017-18 District Certificated Employee of the Year is Schella Radford, Special Education SDC Teacher from Hollingworth Elementary. She was recognized at the RUSD Employee of the Year Recognition Dinner on May 11.

today's one of the best days of my job today we get to recognize the tooth 717 Rowland Unified School District teacher of the year it's a surprise we have all of the students and staff at on the field so come with me while we surprise our 2017 picture of the year Mendez outstanding wonderful employees throughout the entire world and Unified School District but we have only one teacher do the year and she is from Hollywood Elementary it is my pleasure to introduce to you Sheila world food adulation was our pleasure to be here today to recognize the Hardware Plymouth man for does here at homework she is our teacher of the year surprise because we have so many amazing teachers in the school district and I so appreciate read all of this from everyone of you thank you so much for your support and all that you do to help me in my classroom to help me be the best person I can be thank you thanks for everything that you do the first time I walked in the Shell as room she was doing Writers Workshop and I did not experience what that was before and when I got in there and I saw her give him any lesson and then have her students going right I was just amazed by what students were able to produce their content that they brought together to the writing the bed little pouches with idea that they were bringing out to include in their writing was just amazing to see your students so engaged in the kindergarten and first grade and she's just an amazing teacher she get into her room and you see kids learning really really learning as well I've seen their interaction and they just they look up to her and she's just a pro she knows how to handle situations that may be difficult or challenging and she turns them around she's she's just a great person to be around scary contagious for Energy's contagious  we have flashlight class she finds time to just embrace them talk to them she gives her time to the kid she's never is busy to talk to any of them she makes each of them feel like they're her favorite she just they love her five her date see her they run to her they hug her they truly believe that they can achieve in  Alice and I've just is the students always loved her and felt safe with her I think the patients that she carries within herself is it play shows and and that's not easy in a special ed classroom she she's always remained positive and wonderful with she helps me learn all about  stuff that I don't know this rapper Tommy how to me like Miss Robert cuz she's the best rappers my favorite teacher or the kids that is just amazing being able to work with the kids every day and just to have that youth around and they're innocent I had a student around the time when I first started teaching who was nonverbal over that course of the they started talking and we were able to you know it communicate differently and that was just so amazing just seeing I know that as a teacher we have the ability to you know just being around children and experienced those miles own self
