6th Graders Tackle World Issues with Community Exhibition

WALNUT, CA – Sixth grade students at Ybarra Academy of Arts and Technology will showcase to their school community an exhibition on topics such as Child labor, Cyber Bullying, Human Rights, Discrimination, Animal Awareness, Homelessness, Ozone Depletion and Deforestation. *Reporters are invited to see these visual and interactive group presentations.

The students had eight weeks to explore a real life issue or problem, as part of the school’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. IB World schools are international education programmes that are featured in 146 countries and the curriculum is focused on developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners. The Rowland Unified School District is proud to have four IB World Schools.
