Interdistrict Transfers Information and Application

Interdistrict Attendance

 

An Interdistrict Transfer Permit allows students to attend a school district outside of their district of residence. Formal agreements between Rowland Unified School District and other districts allow for the transfer of students between districts, in accordance with Education Code (EC) 48204, the approval of to attend outside of the district of residency is not mandatory. 

Terms and Conditions of the Interdistrict Permit Agreement:  Interdistrict Attendance Permit agreement is valid only for the school year granted; the agreement expires at the end of each school year and must be renewed annually. 

The Interdistrict Permit agreement may be revoked due to student's attendance, behavior and academic performance.  If the student participates in any athletic program governed by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), he/she may not be eligible to participate at the new school.  We reserve the right to verify child care and employment at various times throughout the year. 

 

For students seeking enrollment in the Rowland Unified School District who live outside our attendance area, you will need to apply for an Interdistrict Transfer Permit with your district of residence.

New students in grades 1st - 12th must provide the following with the approved Interdistrict Transfer Permit:

  • A current transcript or last report card, attendance record, and discipline report.  If there is no discipline report, please submit the discipline report sheet signed and dated by a school office staff.  Applications will only be accepted if the required documentation mentioned above is submitted with the Interdistrict Transfer Permit. 

 

Acceptance to attend the Rowland Unified School District is managed to safeguard special programs and mandated class size limits.  Reapplication and/or re-verification may be required. It is the parent’s responsibility to provide safe and timely transportation to and from school.

 

 

For students seeking enrollment outside of the Rowland Unified School District will need to apply for an Interdistrict Transfer Permit.

Approved Interdistrict Transfer Permits from the Rowland Unified School District are valid only for the current school year requested and must be renewed annually. Transportation is the parent's responsibility.  

 

Application available for download for the current school year only, two-page application (click below).  Supporting documents are required for items denoted on the application with an asterisk (*) due to the parent's reason for the request. Interdistrict Transfer Permit Applications can only be accepted with all the required supporting documentation.
