2018-2019 Inter-District Transfer

Interdistrict Transfer Agreement (requesting to attend the Rowland Unified School District)

 

For students seeking enrollment in the Rowland Unified School District who live outside our attendance area.  All NEW Inter-district transfer students to Rowland Unified School District must complete the online enrollment.   For information regarding the online enrollment process please contact Student Services at: (626) 935-8284.

 

NEW out of district students who wish to attend Rowland Unified School District will need to submit an approved Inter District Transfer from the District of Residence for the school year requesting to Student Services located at the Rowland Unified School District Building #1. Students requesting in grades 1st - 12th must provide the following:

 

  • A current transcript or last report card, attendance record, and discipline report.  If there is no discipline report, please submit the discipline report sheet signed and dated by a school office staff. 

 

 Applications will not be accepted if missing the documentation mentioned above.

 

CURRENT out of district students who wish to continue attending the Rowland Unified School District must submit an approved renewal Inter-district Transfer for the school year requesting to: Student Services located at the Rowland Unified School District Building #1.  

 

The number of students approved and accepted to attend the Rowland Unified School District is managed to safeguard special programs and mandated class size limits.   Inter District Transfer students are not eligible to participate in the school bus transportation program. It is the parent’s responsibility to provide safe and timely transportation to and from school.

 

 

Inter-District Transfer Procedures  (release from the Rowland Unified School District)

 

Formal agreements between Rowland Unified School District and other districts allow for the transfer of students between districts, in accordance with Education Code (EC) 48204, the approval of to attend outside of the district of residency is not mandatory.  

 

Inter-District Transfer AgreementThe Inter-district Transfer is for residents of the Rowland Unified School District requesting to attend a public school district other than their home district.  The permit is valid for one school year only and must be renewed annually.  The agreement can be revoked during the year if the terms and conditions of the Inter-district Transfer Agreement are not maintained (see Inter-district Transfer Agreement Application for terms and conditions). Transportation is the parent's responsibility.  

 

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to deliver their request to the Student Services Department at: 1830 S. Nogales Street, Building 1, Rowland Heights, 91748.  Office hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Inter-district Transfer request may require submission of supporting documents for items denoted on the Inter-district Transfer Agreement with an asterisk (*) due to the parents reason for the request.  Incomplete requests will not be accepted. 

 

Request submitted during the regular school year, district shall respond within 15 calendar days of submitting the request.  If approved by your district of residence, then your district of residence will submit your application to the district of request for their approval or denial.    If both districts are in agreement, requested district will contact the parent for enrollment procedures and the district of residence will mail the parent a copy of the approved request.  If denied by your district of residence, then your district of residence will mail the parent a copy of the denied request and the appeal procedures.  While the application is pending, the student must enroll and attend school in the district of residence.
