ROWLAND UNIFIED HOSTS COMMUNITY EVENTS TO KICK OFF ENROLLMENT FOR 2018/19
RUSD Showcase Event Feb. 3 & RUSD School Tour Day Feb. 6
ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – JANUARY 26, 2018 – The community is invited to a huge family event that will spotlight the award-winning schools, innovative academic programs, and student enrichment opportunities offered in the Rowland Unified School District (RUSD). The RUSD Showcase event is on Saturday, February 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rowland Heights Community Center and kicks off enrollment for the 2018/19 school year. Families can enjoy student entertainment on three stages, robotics displays, a high school student art show, Kid Zone, information booths on 19 schools, programs and services. The public can learn more about Dual Language Immersion Programs (in Spanish and new for 2018/19, in Mandarin), enrollment information for new students and on Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten, the Guaranteed College Admission Program for all RUSD students (partnerships with University of La Verne and Azusa Pacific University), the Music For All program where all students in grades 1-6 receive music education and the expansive strings and band programs across the District, RUSD Jobs, Adult and Recreation programs, and much more.
The Rowland Heights Center is located at 18150 Pathfinder Road, Pathfinder Park in Rowland Heights. Courtesy shuttles are provided to the event from Rowland High School every 15 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from Hurley Elementary, Giano Intermediate, and Nogales High School at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Priority Registration for the 2018/19 school year in the Rowland Unified School District is February 5 – March 5, 2018 and all new student registration will be online by visiting www.rowlandschools.org/enroll/.
The community is also invited to RUSD School Tour Day on Tuesday, February 6, where every school in Rowland Unified will offer tours of their campus and spotlight their signature programs at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. No appointments are necessary.
