Villacorta Elementary Students Take Part in Robotics Tournament

Villacorta Viking students were excited to compete for a third time at the First Lego League Robotics Challenge this past weekend. The TRASH TREKSM Challenge asked student teams to invent a solution to help our trash problem creating their own LEGO MINDSTORMS® robot.

“We took two teams consisting of 4th -6th grade students and they were awesome! They had to present their project, build a robot that had to compete different missions in 2 ½ minutes and then they were evaluated on the First Lego League Core Values. There were more than 60 schools that participated and they did a great job in front of the judges. We are so proud of how hard they worked and their outstanding effort,” said Villacorta Advisor and Computer Lab Tech, Estella Gonzales.
