Red Ribbon Week Celebrated at Oswalt Academy

Students at Oswalt Academy celebrated National Red Ribbon Week that focuses on living healthy, drug-free lives, with a variety of activities last week.

Students pledged to stay Drug Free by signing posters and receiving I Pledge Stickers. Every day there was a theme such as "Sock it to Drug Day" where students wore crazy socks!

Walnut Sheriff Deputy Daly along with Fire Station 61 Captain Sanchez and team were judges of the student poster contest and showed off their vehicles and spoke with students. Congratulations to Poster Winners: First Place: Mrs. Acevedo (3rd Grade); 2nd Place: Mrs. Marsh (2nd Grade) and 3rd Place: Ms. Reyes (6th Grade).

7th and 8th grade students view a Canine presentation by handler Raul Perez to learn more about how canine units search for drugs in schools.
