Rowland instructors gather to share teaching tips
Outside, golfers were sharing stories and tips on how to improve their play at the Diamond Bar Golf Course on June 13. But inside the banquet room, teachers were sharing strategies and techniques to improve their instruction.
The seminal event marked the end of the year in the Rowland Unified School District. The instructors have learned a lot with the help of the Ball Foundation.
"We're calling it a taste of Rowland," said Carla Colmenarez, director of instructional development for the foundation. "The teachers have brought evidence of student learning and share their techniques with other instructors."
The walls of the clubhouse were filled with summaries of the many groups who have been working with the educational foundation based in Chicago.
In 2007, Rowland Unified was one of only two districts from across the nation chosen by the Ball Foundation for the innovative partnership.
