Rowland High School (RHS) is a National Blue Ribbon School and California Distinguished School.
· Rowland High received a full 6-year WASC Accreditation: the highest rate a school can achieve.
· Rowland High was selected as one of 75 national “promising schools” and one of 10 in California to be invited by the State Department of Education to participate in the Successful Practices Network (SPN). SPN links RHS with other proven and promising schools to share best practices.
· Rowland High’s guidance department received the “Best in the West” award for its outstanding Support Personnel Accountability Report Card (SPARC).
· Over 2,000 students were recognized for their academic excellence and/or improvement through our Renaissance program.
· Rowland High had an API (Academic Performance Index) of 769 with statewide ranking of 9 (with 10 being the highest).
· Our Destination Imagination teams excelled in competition. They took two First Place awards, the Da Vinci Award for Innovation, and Second and Third Place awards at the regional competition. They then went to state where one team placed 2nd and another placed 3rd which qualified them to advance to the Global competitions.
· Rowland's FHA-HERO delegation went to state finals with four 2nd Place award winners.
· Three students scored above 100 on the American Mathematics Competition (for all students). These students will now compete in the American Invitational Mathematics Examination.
· In the California Mathematics League Competitions, RHS scored 2nd in the region (Los Angeles NE-6) with a score of 161, placing 11th out of the 200 schools in the state that competed. In addition, one student had a perfect score on the last test.
· Rowland had nine National Merit Scholarship Finalists and 18 National Merit Scholarship commended students.
· SAT math scores exceed state and national averages.
· Rowland’s Infusion show choir captured 1st place in the Tournament of Champions Competition. The Enchantment choir received the Showmanship Plaque for Most Outstanding Visual Performance.
· Twenty-three students were eligible for the University of California’s ELC (Eligibility in the Local Content) path for admission to the UC system.
· All graduating seniors in our International Baccalaureate program were accepted to very prestigious colleges and received approximately $200,000 in scholarships by universities.
· Two students were selected out of 550 Semifinalist to advance to the final round of the 2007 Presidential Scholars competition.
· The Rowland High Family and Consumer Science department were recertified as a Program of Excellence.
