Rowland students benefit from strong PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) and PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student Association) units on every campus. We even have a PTA group for Special Education parents. Each year, parents, families and community members invest more than 100,000 volunteer hours in support of PTA/PTSA units.

Advocacy continues to be a cornerstone of PTA, with our local units assisting with the health, education, and welfare of RUSD children and families. One representative from each unit participates in the Rowland Council PTA, an organization that advises the superintendent and District leadership team.

PTA/PTSA units spearhead fund-raising activities to provide supplemental funding for field trips, enrichment activities, and the acquisition of technology, books and other resources for school and classroom libraries. The units also provide parent education, and host monthly meetings to keep parents and families informed. From pamphlets and booklets to videos and a detailed national web site, PTA/PTSA units provide a wide range of resources to help parents serve as their child's first teacher to enable success in school.

The facts don’t lie. Parent involvement equals student achievement, which in turn leads to a better world for future generations!
