Nogales Recognizes Coach John Romano: Nogales High School students and staff saw, during the Spring Sports Rally, a milestone achievement with the presentation of a special ring and banner for Coach John Romano who became the first coach in the San Gabriel Valley to earn over 600 wins as a high school baseball coach. Under the leadership of Coach Don Montanez, the key officers of the Block N club worked with Jostens and the Nogales administration to have a special ring and banner made to honor Coach Romano’s legacy. He currently is at 627 wins and with many games left in the current season, we will not be surprised to see him approach the 640 mark. The occasion happened this year as Coach Romano announced that he will be retiring as head varsity coach at the end of this season.
