Thanksgiving Baskets for RUSD Families in Need: Donations Now Being Accepted at Family Resource Center

 
THANKSGIVING BASKETS FOR ROWLAND FAMILIES IN NEED
 
Dear District Staff and Community Partners,

The Family Resource Center Staff provides Thanksgiving Baskets to our neediest Rowland USD families. We serve as many families as we can each year depending on donations. We would like to extend the opportunity to contribute to all RUSD staff and community partners. We invite you to give either a Thanksgiving meal or non-perishable food pantry items. We recommend the following options:
 
Thanksgiving Basket:                                                             Non-perishable Food Pantry Basket*:
 Turkey or ham     Peanut butter and jam or jelly
 Canned fruit       Canned meat
 Canned cranberry   Cereal
 Rolls or tortillas         Beans (cans or bag)
 Canned vegetables  Rice
 Boxed mashed potatoes  Canned soup
 Pre-made pumpkin pie (not frozen)  Pasta
 Can of whipped cream  Macaroni and cheese (boxed)
 Box of stuffing  Rolls or Tortillas
 Canned gravy   Canned fruits and vegetables
 Butter  Dessert items
 Plates, napkins, plastic silverware (all optional)  Plates, napkins, plastic silverware (all optional)
  
          *List based on items most in demand at local food distribution sites.
 
Families in need are identified by FRC community liaisons. All names of families receiving baskets are kept
confidential. If you are interested in participating in this activity we ask that all baskets or donations of individual items be in our office (17800 E. Renault La Puente, CA 91744) by no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Distribution will take place on Thursday, November 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Adult volunteers are welcome to participate.
