NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARNING ON SUFFICIENCY OF STANDARDS-ALIGNED TEXTBOOKS OR INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The Governing Board of the Rowland Unified School District will hold a public hearing on the sufficiency of textbooks or instructional materials.
The public hearing will be held at 1830 S. Nogales Street, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 on September 14, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend this meeting.
Each year the Rowland Unified School District Board of Education holds a public hearing before the end of the eighth week from the first day pupils attend school. At this public hearing the governing board makes a determination as to whether each pupil in each school has sufficient textbooks or instructional materials, or both, that are aligned to the content standards and are consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum framework adopted by the State Board of Education in reading/language arts, mathematics, science and history/social science. The definition of sufficiency provides that each pupil including each English language learner must have a standards-aligned textbook or instructional materials, or both, to use in class and to take home.
